Сюжет
Темношкіра рабиня Кора працює на бавовняній плантації у Вірджинії. Непосильна праця, нелюдська жорстокість як господарів, так і братів і сестер по нещастю, готових на все заради виживання, штовхають Кору на відчайдушний крок, і вона тікає разом з недавно прибулим Цезарем. Саме від нього вона дізнається про підземну залізницю, що веде до свободи. Але їхнім слідом уже йде безжалісний мисливець за втікачами.
