В наші дні група акторів, на чолі з Даніелем, збирається на замовлення храму католицької церкви, зіграти виставу під відкритим небом на традиційну біблійну тему Страстей Христових.Але трактовка сюжету акторами була настільки нетрадиційною, що викликала протести церкви, яка врешті-решт вирішує припинити постановки п'єси. Проте сама п'єса мала великий вплив на акторів трупи, і особливо на молодого Даніеля, життя якого стає схожим на життя Ісуса Христа.
