У своїй новій документальній картині, Вернер Герцоґ занурюється в минуле, сьогодення і майбутнє віртуального світу. З німецькою пунктуальністю і романтичністю він розповідає історію інтернету, від його піонерів з Каліфорнійського університету до сучасних візіонерів начебто Ілона Маска. Однак Герцоґа цікавить не тільки науково технічні досягнення або, навпаки, апокаліптичні прогнози, пов'язані з розвитком світової павутини, але перш за все, як і чому інтернет настільки кардинально змінив і продовжує змінювати наше життя, що навіть підглянуті Герцоґом буддистські ченці, ледь перервавши медитацію, тут же обтикатимуться в твіттер. Герцоґ досліджує цифровий пейзаж з тією ж пристрастю і самовідданістю, з якими він раніше перетинав дикі ландшафти Амазонії, Сахари або Антарктиди, і розповідає про взаємний вплив двох світів: мережевого і реального, який тепер, після появи інтернету, ніколи вже не буде колишнім.
