Після того, як Волтер і Анна були змушені з'їхати із квартири в центрі Нью-Йорка, вони вирішили купити власний будинок! Але де знайти такі гроші? Аж отут, якось дуже вчасно, один знайомий запропонував начебто дивовижний будинок за чудесною ціною - одна з тих пропозицій, від яких, як правило, не відмовляються.І наші герої, які нічого не підозрюють, зважилися на купівлю. Але якби вони тільки знали, який будинок їм дістався! Їх чекав будинок "із сюрпризом" - житло, яке розвалювалося прямо на очах, у якому не прагло працювати рішучим чином нічогісінько! Але безжурний Волтер вирішує зайнятися ремонтом нового помешкання. Починається битва з порохнявим маєтком, битва не на життя, а на смерть!
Хто ж переможе: нові горе-ґазди, або будинок- катастрофа?
