Нереалізований письменник, шкільний учитель англійської мови й пияк Майлз Реймонд бере свого кращого друга Джека – вийшлого в тираж актора – в мандрівку виноробними заводами Каліфорнії. Джекові незайве розслабитися, бо через тиждень у нього має бути весілля.
