Дія відбувається в 1999 році, ще до появи Зентреді. В інопланетному космічному кораблі, що впав на Землю, була знайдена надтехнологая, через яку розгорілася війна між ООН і АНТИООН. Війна затягнулася на 8 років, старі пілоти вмирали одні за іншим, і на їх зміну приходили зовсім юні...Шин Кудоу, молодий пілот винищувача військово-повітряних сил ООН, був збитий супротивником і потерпів крах на самотньому тропічному острові. Його врятували і виходили місцеві жителі.
