Три драматичних історії про любов, що паралельно розвиваються у трьох різних містах: Нью-Йорку, Парижі та Римі. Кожен з головних героїв стоїть перед перешкодою, що віддаляє від них момент справжнього щастя.Нью-Йорк: Джулію звинуватили в замаху на вбивство сина, хлопчика відправили до його батька, який намагається зробити все, щоби стати єдиним опікуном дитини. Джулія заперечує свою причетність до злочину та робить усе, щоби відновити материнські права і повернути сина.
Париж: Майкл нещодавно пішов від своєї дружини до коханки - пара балансує на межі, допоки розкривається страшна таємниця його нової "половинки".
Рим: Американський бізнесмен Скотт під час мандрівки по Італії закохується в циганку з Албанії. Згодом її доньку викрадає російський мафіозі, вимагаючи викуп. Скотт не впевнений, підлаштовано це викрадення, чи ні, хоча відверто намагається врятувати дівчину.
Наприкінці фільму всі сюжетні лінії отримають логічне завершення, а відносно деяких "вирви око" недоліків стане зрозумілим, що то були умисні авторські ходи в цій головоломці.
