Жителі маленького містечка на березі ріки давно звикли до тихого розміреного життя. Вони і не підозрюють, що в річці, яка здається такою спокійною і такою, що розташовує до відпочинку, завівся: доісторичний предок сучасного крокодила! Величезний монстр, що існував ще в епоху динозаврів, у багато разів перевершує своїх нащадків розмірами і кровожерливістю, наводить всепоглинаючий жах на городян. Ніхто не знає, як він з'явився тут, чому вибрав для свого житла саме це місце.
