Фільм заснований на реальній історії про двох двадцятирічних друзів, які проживали в Маямі під час війни в Іраку. Вони скористалися з маловідомого нововведення уряду, яке дало маленьким компаніям шанс взяти участь у конкурсі на отримання великих американських військових контрактів. Почавши з малого, вони стали заробляти великі гроші і жити на широку ногу. Але ці двоє, схоже, стрибнули вище голови, взявшись за операцію на постачання зброї афганським повстанцям (на 300 мільйонів доларів). Ця справа виводить їх на дуже темних особистостей, причому чи не найбільш темними з них виявляються представники американського уряду.
