Ось і підходить до завершення літо, що тривало майже десятиліття. Навколо осередку влади Семи королівств, Залізного трону, зріє змова, і в цей непростий час король вирішує шукати підтримки у друга юності Еддарда Старка. У світі, де всі — від короля до найманця — рвуться до влади, плетуть інтриги й готові встромити ніж у спину, є місце і шляхетності, співчуття і любові. Тим часом, ніхто не помічає пробудження темряви з легенд далеко на Півночі — і лише Стіна захищає живих на південь від неї.

Just an ordinary boy from the Sofia suburbs becomes the first bulgarian undercover cop. Forced by his father when he was young to lie and cheat, Martin becomes the perfect liar. That skill, and also the hatred of the 'underworld' makes him the perfect match for a dangerous mission - to infiltrate the crime organisation of a rich and powerful businessman. While infiltrating and living in fear of being uncovered, Martin falls in love with the most inappropriate woman - Djaro's girlfriend, Suni. Just when he gains the trust of the mobsters, it appears that the real enemy is in the police. Martin is alone against all, facing difficult decisions.

As informal punishment for an unwitting affair with admiral Gregory Maitland's adulterous wife, Sam Axe, a US Navy Commander, was sent to Colombia to observe the suspected rebel movement Espada Ardiente ('Burning Sword'). Now he's under investigation for allegedly consorting with those alleged terrorists. He explains how he discovered that his Colombian army liaison Comandante Veracruz was the real drug dealers cahoot, who pailed on framing Axe and presumably innocent farmers for the bombing of an American-run Andes clinic. Sam escaped and tried to help the civilians and forces CIA observers to demand urgent help. He even found a trump card to avoid conviction for his illegal methods and a favorable discharge.
