Vincke and Verstuyft are one of the best detective teams of the Antwerp police force. When they are confronted with the disappearance of a top official and the murder of two prostitutes, the trail leads to the almost retired assassin Angelo Ledda. Since Ledda starts showing symptoms of Alzheimer's, it's getting more and more difficult to complete his contracts. When he has to murder a 12-year old call-girl, he refuses and becomes a target himself. While Vincke and Verstuyft are chasing him and counting the corpses, Ledda is taking care of his employers.

Літо, 1954. Радянський Союз відправляє німецьких військовополонених на батьківщину. Серед колишніх військовополонених — батько одинадцятирічного Матіаса. Хлопчик живе з мамою, сестрою і братом у шахтарському містечку й обожнює футбол. Роки, проведені в ув’язненні, морально розхитали Річарда і зараз йому важко адаптуватися до життя у післявоєнній Німеччині. Завдяки силі духу й сміливості, Матіасу вдається відродити любов у серці свого батька.
Сюжет
Літо, 1954. Радянський Союз відправляє німецьких військовополонених на батьківщину. Серед колишніх військовополонених — батько одинадцятирічного Матіаса. Хлопчик живе з мамою, сестрою і братом у шахтарському містечку й обожнює футбол. Роки, проведені в ув’язненні, морально розхитали Річарда і зараз йому важко адаптуватися до життя у післявоєнній Німеччині. Колишній начальник Йогана Фалька в поліції Гетеборга, Ола Селлберґ, стає керівником відділу боротьби з організованою злочинністю в Європолі в Гаазі та хоче найняти свого старого колегу. Фальк разом із родиною повертається додому після тривалої автомобільної відпустки та робочої поїздки Європою й домовляється зустрітися з Селлберґом у Гаазі.Тим часом шведка у Лондоні, Ребекка Окерстрем, дізнається, у яких справи замішаний її цивільний чоловік, і тікає від нього. Вона звертається до шведського керівника Європолу, якого бачила по телевізору, і таким чином Ола Селлберґ проводить одну за одною зустрічі з Йоганом та Ребеккою в тому самому ресторані. Так Йоган і Ребекка знайомляться за обставин, які неминуче втягнуть його в її заплутане минуле. Починається наповнене екшном полювання на докази проти її колишнього…
