Історія бунтівного якудзи Рікіо Ішікави, що після війни стрімко піднімається у кримінальному світі, але власна неконтрольована жорстокість руйнує його життя. Між 1946 і 1950 роками він конфліктує з кланами, втрачає союзників і занурюється в залежності. Єдиною опорою стає куртизанка Чієко, яка дає йому прихисток. Висланий до Осаки, Ішікава ще глибше скочується у хаос. Його непередбачуваність тримає всіх у напрузі, але водночас веде до самознищення. Це портрет людини, яка не може втекти від власної природи.
