Mario e Silvio, l'uno romano e tranviere, l'altro milanese e ricco banchiere ma afflitto da una miriade di complessi si incontrano durante un corso in una scuola per la sopravvivenza dove vengono messi in coppia. Tra incomprensioni e litigi, nasce alla fine un'amicizia che permetterà loro di superare le prove più difficili ed addirittura di trionfare nella competizione finale.
