У кимсь засекреченому інституті, що займається біологічними і генетичними дослідженнями, звіряче убитий охоронець. Потім слідує низка вбивств самих різних людей, основною «провиною» яких була причетність до цієї першої безглуздої смерті, іноді просто інтерес до неї, якісь припущення і розмови.
