Група студентів медиків вирішує провести небезпечний дослід аби дізнатись, що відбувається після смерті. Вони по черзі занурюються у стан клінічної смерті, аби самим переконатися в тому, що цей світ не єдиний. Та в результаті цих дослідів їхнє життя круто змінюється. З минулого спливають люди, яким вони так чи інакше заподіяли шкоди, ці галюцинації доводять студентів до божевілля.І є лише один спосіб позбутися цих жахів...
Сюжет

“Ейр Америка” – авіалінія ЦРУ, яка функціонувала в Лаосі під час в’єтнамської війни. Після втрати ліцензії пілота Білла Корвінгтона беруть на роботу саме туди, і разом з ветераном-напарником він отримує завдання вилетіти на ворожу територію з секретною місією… Середня за якістю комедія, яку не рятує навіть участь Дауні – хоча завдяки ній він заробив бали в Голлівуді і подарував нам чимало наступних успішних робіт. У прокаті картина не мала такого успіху, як інші хіти Гібсона того часу, на кшталт “Смертельних зброй”.

After the war, L.A. private eye Jake Gittes is hired by realtor Jake Berman. He proves the infidelity of Berman's wife Kitty and sets up a way for her to be caught in the act. At the rendezvous, Berman shoots the co-respondent who turns out to be his business partner. Gittes finds himself in the middle of a complicated web, under pressure from all sides for a wire recording of the fatal encounter. He then realises that the land the partners were developing was once an orange grove connected with a case he has never quite got over.
