Сюжет фільму оповідає про молодого Артура, який тиняється на околицях міста Лондоніум зі своєю бандою. Своїм походженням він зовсім не цікавиться. Так він живе до моменту, коли доля зводить його з магічним мечем Екскалібур. Після цього Артур кардинально змінюється. Він закохується, приєднується до руху опору і об'єднує навколо себе людей, щоб разом повалити тирана Вортігема, який вбив батьків Артура і захопив трон.
