1865 рік. Сьогунат доживає останні роки, але ще здатний карати своїх ворогів.Один з них - наймана вбивця на ім’я Ізо. Він знаходиться на службі у правителя князівства Тоса, що виступило проти будинку Токугава.
Ізо вбиває безліч самураїв сьогуна, але потрапляє в полон і вмирає болісною смертю.
У останню мить сила люті переносить Ізо через простір і час в сучасний Токіо, де він опиняється серед міських бомжів.
Тут він перетворюється на нову, вдосконалену смертоносну машину, а душа Ізо, розгнівана муками минулого життя, жадає помсти.
