Фільм про легендарну історичну особу. У ньому велика увага приділена історичним фактам і політичним подіям, що мали місце в період правління короля Артура. Але картина обіцяє сумістити в собі як реальні історичні події, так і міфи про подвиги лицарів круглого столу.Римляни напали на сарматів і в тій битві тисячі поклали свої голови і на четвертий день коли битва закінчилась, виявилось, що з війська сарматів залишилась тільки легендарна малочисленна кінна армія. Захопленні їхнею відвагою та вмінням верхової їзди, римляни зберегли їм життя в обмін на їх (та їхніх нащадків) 15 річну службу. Так от саме цими воїнами командував в свій час Артур і були це «лицарі круглого столу» і завдяки їм Артур об'єднав Англію і став королем.
