Молодий наркоторговець Кріс Сміт заліз у борги і не має чим розплатитися. Почувши, що його рідна мати, яка їх давно покинула, склала страховий договір на велику суму, він вирішує вбити її. Внаслідок автомобільної аварії керівник хірургічного відділення однієї з лікарень Торонто Чарлі Гарріс впадає у кому. Його наречена і колега, Алекс Рід, разом з видатним хірургом Джоелем Гораном борються за життя Чарлі та інших пацієнтів. Кожен день, стикаючись із необхідністю приймати нелегкі й сміливі рішення, медики дарують людям надію на порятунок. А тим часом коридорами лікарні бродить дух доктора Гарріса, намагаючись зрозуміти, хто він — привид або плід власної уяви.

Усі вони: банкір з уолл-стрітом, геній відео ігор, російський алюмінієвий магнат, міжнародний торговець зброєю і один із засновників мобільного зв'язку. За власні гроші вони вирушають на війну, щоб відчути її справжній смак і отримати нову дозу адреналіну. Але із самого початку все йде не так. Ілюзія гри рушиться, як тільки мільйонери потрапляють на острів. При висадці їх човни тонуть, а охорона - вбита.
Мільйонери виявляються на ворожій території, не маючи можливості вибратися з острова. Вони панікують і лаються між собою, тоді як по острову їх переслідують солдати військового командира. Крейг намагається їх навчити основам самооборони, але вони поводяться егоїстично, претензійно і безвідповідально. Чи зможуть розпещені мільйонери, що звикли до комфорту, вибратися живими з пастки, яку приготував їм острів?
