Молода поетеса Інгрід безтурботно плаває у відкритому морі. Раптом її охоплює паніка, пронизливий страх... Ще секунда — і хвиля накриє Інгрід назавжди. Але раптом вона відчуває дотик міцної чоловічої руки. Це Джек, письменник. Він не просто врятує Інгрід, але і назавжди змінить оточуючий її світ. Проте чи зможе нова любов перемогти неминучі болючі захоплення Інгрід чоловіками, нескінченні політичні перевороти і волю її деспотичного батька?
