За мотивами роману Василя Земляка "Лебедина зграя"; про перші кроки колективізації в українському селі.Поетичне кіно переправили у табори. Після пленуму ЦК Компартії України 1974-го року фільм було фактично заборонено. Досить поглянути на те, які ролі грав Миколайчук до і після 1973-го, аби зрозуміти, яка катастрофа спіткала митця.
Буковина, де народився і виріс Миколайчук, напевно ж і була прообразом для нього самого, коли фільмував «Вавілон ХХ».
