Париж, 1967 рік. Жан-Люк Годар є найкращим із режисерів свого часу. Він якраз працює над фільмом "Китаянка", де грає Анна Вяземськи – жінка, у яку Годар закохався. І нехай режисер на 20 років старший за акторку, його це не зупинить, і він готовий одружитися на дівчині, адже їм так добре разом. Але їх шлюб має несподіваний вплив на кар'єру Жан-Люка – фільм через це викликав небувалий скандал. У травні 1968 року Годар навіть приєднується до революційних рухів. Конфлікти і чисельні непорозуміння змінюють режисера зсередини. Жан-Люк Годар із тих людей, які мають мету й ітимуть до кінця. Це справжнє життя великого режисера.
