When Dr. Frankenstein is killed by a monster he created, his daughter and his lab assistant Marshall continue his experiments. The two fall in love and attempt to transplant Marshall's brain in to the muscular body of a retarded servant Stephen, in order to prolong the aging Marshall's life. Rigas does a final test of pouring a tremendous charge into Dan's body, and Dan becomes superhuman and his body glows. He is also a robot that is controlled by Rigas. When Lawrence tries to stop the experiment, Rigas orders Dan to kill him. Rigas removes the electricity from Dan's body and he becomes a shrunken shell. Despite the efforts of June Meredith, Lawrence's niece, and newspaper reporter Mark Adams to help him, Dan is sentenced to die in the electric chair. But in the death-chamber he absorbs three shocks which returns him to superhuman status. He escapes and goes after Rigas, after putting on a rubber suit to encase his electric energy.

The oldest son, Martin, decides to take a wife (who just happens to have escaped from a mental hospital after her parents died). Martin's father is not happy with this intrusion but finally gives in because he understands him son's needs. They all try to be a happy family until humans used in botched experiments are discovered by the new bride and the police nearly discover the lab while looking for Martin's wife. Everyone tries to get out of there via the transporter but things just don't go according to plan ...

Макс Картрайт – учениця старших класів, яка не так давно втратила свою улюблену матір і після цього знаходиться в глибокій депресії. Мати дівчини була не тільки хорошою матірю, але і відомою актрисою, яка знялася у популярному молодіжному фільмі жахів. На річницю загибелі матері, Макс разом зі своїми друзями вирішує піти в кінотеатр, де як раз транслюється той самий фільм жахів. Дівчина хоче таким чином ще раз побачити рідну людину, нехай і в фільмі жахів про підлітків. Під час перегляду фільму в кінотеатрі починається пожежа, і друзі, рятуючись від вогню, забігають прямо в екран і якимось неймовірним чином опиняються всередині фільму жахів.
