Youths get ready for a party, decorating the dance floor, cleaning out the fountain of a pond. That evening, the party starts and guests arrive: everyone has a ticket, and a guy at the gate, wearing a formal shirt, tails, and shorts, makes sure only those with tickets gain entrance. Чи існує життя після смерті? Більшість хочуть вірити, що так, а з духами померлих люди взагалі спілкуються з давніх часів. Тільки якщо раніше великим героям доводилося особисто являтися в потойбічний світ, а іншим — вдовольнятися послугами медіумів, то в XXI сторіччі все набагато простіше: на небесах набрали цілу армію дівчат-кур’єрів з посохами-компаньйонами, котрі вдень і вночі доставляють адресатам листи шіґофумі. Давно сказано «мертві — безсоромні», а тому речі, які покійники пишуть в останньому дозволеному після смерті листі, живих дуже часто дивують. Частіше за все — неприємно, але буває й інакше.Серіал розповідає про трудові будні небесної поштарки Фуміко — молодої дівчини, яка в парі зі своїм посохом, Канакою, доставляє листи-шіґофумі без вихідних і відпусток. Робота у Фуміко важка, клієнти часто пишуть нечіткі адреси — спробуй розібратись, кому цей лист, чи та це людина, — а начальство постійно давить з планом і графіком… А іще за умовами контракту треба по-хорошому вмовити адресата прийняти лист, чого декому дуже не хочеться. Тож доводиться небесному кур’єру брати до уваги життя сторонніх людей, хоча б трохи, але заглиблюватися в їхні горе і радості, розв’язувати проблеми… Але чи сторонніх? Адже Фуміко — не демон і не ангел. Вона — одна із нас.
