Mami Sakura used to be a normal junior high school student, but she happened to acquire supernatural powers. Using her powers and with the help of her childhood friend, Kazuo Takahata, she solves mysterious occurrences.She then saves people in trouble with her psychic powers, such as telekinesis and telepathy. When she senses someone needs help, she uses the "Teleportation Gun" (a heart-shaped brooch Takahata designs) and transports herself there. Mami's teleportation is only triggered when a projectile is flying toward her, and this locket that shoots out tiny marbles is a portable gadget for teleporting in a controlled way, rather than by chance. Her telekinesis can be precise to a cellular level, which enables her to transport cancerous cells out of one of her father's art critics. Her telepathy allows her to access people's thoughts and dreams.

Сюжет серіалу повторює сюжет манги й ґрунтується на типовому любовному трикутнику: дві дівчини люблять одного хлопця, а хлопець, у свою чергу, не може зважитися сказати одній дівчині «ні», а інший «так». Тай ще до всього, головний герой (Кесуке), як я вже писав вище, має містичні здатності, що не тільки не допомагає йому в його любовних справах, але, навпаки, усіляко заважає. Не маючи можливості сказати, що він медіум, Кесуке доводитися приховувати свої здатності, що не завжди виходить і часом приводить до забавних казусів.
Сюжет
Сюжет серіалу повторює сюжет манги й ґрунтується на типовому любовному трикутнику: дві дівчини люблять одного хлопця, а хлопець, у свою чергу, не може зважитися сказати одній дівчині «ні», а інший «так». Без сумніву, одне з найцікавіших і найдивніших творінь «GAINAX». Обидві частини цього фільму в пародійній формі розповідають про становлення студії, до того ж роблять це з таким перебільшенням і пафосом, що моментами стає відверто не по собі. Але сам сюжет забавний. Мова в ньому йде про компанії дітлахів, які спочатку просто захоплювалися аніме, фігурками, мангою та іншою атрибутикою, проте потім самі вирішили цю атрибутику виробляти. Потрібно відзначити, що все це чудово показано і змонтовано, іноді й зовсім захоплює.
