Луїза та Габіно відвідують своїх літніх батьків у глухому шахтарському містечку на півночі Мексики. Намагаючись відволіктися від сімейних дебатів, Габіно уявляє паралельну реальність з поліцейськими, бандитами та фатальними красунями, де кожному члену сім'ї уготована власна роль.Сюжет
Під час зйомок музичного фільму в Китаї переплітаються сцена й реальність. Режисер Не Вень знімає стрічку з коханою акторкою Сунь На та зіркою Лінь Цзяньдуном, не знаючи про їхнє минуле. Десять років тому вони вже кохали одне одного, але тепер Сунь заперечує це. У сюжеті мюзиклу героїня втрачає пам’ять, що дивно віддзеркалює її власні почуття. Поки зйомки тривають, Лінь намагається повернути її любов, а режисер відкриває правду. Любовний трикутник загострюється, і межа між ролями та справжніми емоціями остаточно стирається.
