Олег Сенцов – український режисер, активіст Євромайдану і уродженець Криму. Після анексії півострова Росією він став активним супротивцем окупації. З-під небес, де ширяють птахи, і з глибин океану, де мешкають кити і гігантські рогаті скати, майстри документалістики Жак Перрен і Жак Клюзо вийшли на берег, щоб представити свій новий фільм. Вони захоплюють глядача в подорож у часі, в європейські ландшафти, якими ті були 20 000 років тому, коли в останній Льодовиковий період людина заселяла їх пліч-о-пліч з дикими звірами. Льодовиковий період, зима, що тривала 80 000 років, завершилися дуже цікавим етапом, коли відносно швидко весь континент покрився безмірним і безкрайнім доісторичним лісом. Нова конфігурація планет привела до появи пір року, ландшафт зазнав метаморфози, розвинулися флора і фауна.
