Режисер створює незвичний кінематографічний портрет Північної Кореї, поєднуючи власні поїздки з архівними матеріалами та сценами масових виступів. Стрічка досліджує, як держава формує уявлення про любов, патріотизм і свободу. Через контраст пропаганди та особистих спостережень глядачеві пропонується задуматися над природою ідеології.
