Мирса, 40-річний олдовий панк, що бореться з рутиною у рідному Скоп'є. Він аутсайдер і анархіст, живе з мамою в пролетарському районі, час від часу реалізуючи наркотики, щоб якось прожити. Роки, коли він грав у хардкор-панк-группі вже давно минули.Одного разу йому пропонують відновити свій панк-гурт "Трудова терапія" задля виступу на мультикультурному фестивалі в Дебарі перед албанцями. Фінансує все діло якийсь зарубіжний фонд. Хоч це і удар по іміджу, але бажання виступити та раптове повернення старої подруги Ніни таки переважають.
Залишилось всього нічого - зібрати старих друзів з усієї території колишньої Югославії та вмовити їх виступити.

A small border post on the Yugoslav-Albanian border in the spring of 1987. Frustrated and always drunk, lieutenant Pasic feels a strange pain in his groins. He seeks help from the only doctor among the soldiers, Sinisa, who diagnoses a sexually transmitted disease. Not wishing his wife to know about it and trying to find excuses not to go home, he declares a state of emergency, claiming that the Albanian army is preparing an attack against Yugoslavia. A joke transforms into war hysteria: soldiers dig trenches, Pasic grows wilder as the days go by, Sinisa embarks on a dangerous liaison, and his best friend Ljuba decides to leave the army. The situation slowly runs out of control...

Дія відбувається в Скоп'є на початку 1940-х років. Футбольний клуб «Македонія» — аутсайдер югославського чемпіонату, гравці команди давно втратили надію на успіх. Власник клубу Димитрій, що знаходиться під великим враженням від успіхів Німеччини, приймає радикальне рішення — запрошує як тренера німецького фахівця Рудольфа Шпіца. Після довгих виснажливих тренувань Шпіцу вдається поставити команді гру в нападі. «Македонія» здобуває перемогу в Белграді, що викликає в Скоп'є сплеск македонського патріотизму. Паралельно розвивається романтична історія взаємин між бідняком Костею, нападником команди, і молодою красунею Ребеккою, дочкою найбагатшого в місті єврейського банкіра.Після окупації Югославії німецько-італійсько-болгарськими військами починаються гоніння проти євреїв, що безпосередньо зачіпає команду: «німець» Шпіц виявляється євреєм і позбавляється права бути присутнім на стадіоні під час матчів. Проте, «Македонія», яка виступає тепер в болгарському чемпіонаті, здобуває одну перемогу за іншою і претендує на чемпіонство.
