За мотивами біографічного роману письменниці Асти Шейб «Прикраса у своєму будинку. Історія Оттіліі фон Фабер-Кастелло». Німеччина, кінець XIX століття. Лотар фон Фабер призначає свою 16-річну онуку Оттілію спадкоємицею олівцевої фабрики. Промисловець впевнений у талантах і рішучості молодої жінки. У свою чергу, Оттілія розуміє, щоб досягти успіху в світі, де лідирують чоловіки, їй потрібно дізнатися.
