Святкування Нового року - справа клопітка. Принаймні для телебачення. Адже зйомки "новорічного вогника" проходять в жахливих умовах загального хаосу. До того ж, у цьому процесі присутнє особливе марновірство. Кожен столик з зірками має свою ауру. Але й це не допоможе, коли в процесі зйомок почне відбуватися низка безглуздих випадковостей, яка призводить до трагічних наслідків. У всій цій плутанині в центрі уваги опиняється популярний співак Альфонсо, якого намагаються вбити. А ось простий хлопець з масовки Хосе випробовує долю на везіння і цілується з чарівною зіркою Паломою. У цю ніч всіх чекають незабутні відчуття...

The trouble is that the real creative brains behind Saint Loup's outfit is his Moorish assistant, while his perfumer is a Marano Jew and his hairdresser is out, loud and very proud. And Catholic Spain, in the grip of the Inquisition, is no place for Arabs, Jews and homosexuals (Saint Loup is anything but heterosexual). To make matters worse, his secretary is an undercover Protestant plotting revenge for the St. Bartholomew's Day massacre and the father of the bride turns out to be the Chief Inquisitor of Cordoba.

Сюжет заснований на справжній історії, яка трапилася тут на початку XVII століття, коли одна з мешканок села заявила, що вона відьма і регулярно бере участь в шабаші у довколишніх печерах зі своїми сусідками. Тоді Свята Інквізиція заарештувала майже все населення Сугаррамурді і навколишніх сіл (близько 300 осіб), влаштувавши суд, який тривав два роки. В результаті в 1610 році 40 мешканців села були звинувачені у чаклунстві, а 11 з них - спалені на багатті. З тих пір Сугаррамурді закарбувався в колективній пам'яті як житло відьом.
