The Captains takes the audience on a voyage of discovery as pop culture phenom William Shatner interviews Sir Patrick Stewart (Captain Jean-Luc Picard Star Trek: The Next Generation), Avery Brooks (Captain Benjamin Sisko Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Kate Mulgrew (Captain Kathryn Janeway, Star Trek: Voyager), Scott Bakula (Captain Jonathan Archer, Star Trek: Enterprise), and Chris Pine (Captain James T. Kirk, Star Trek 2009). With each of these celebrated actors Shatner explores the pressures and pitfalls that came along with donning the Starfleet uniform and reveals for the first time his own embarrassment over the role which made him a household name. With the help of his fellow captains Shatner learns to respect his work on the original Star Trek and finishes the film with a new perspective on life, death, and the legacy he will leave behind. The Captains also delves into each of the actors' lives and careers leading up to their landmark television performances. The film pays special attention to Shatner's own acting roots, tracking his journey from humble beginnings at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival and CBC Radio, to headlining Broadway shows, and eventually getting his big break in Hollywood at the helm of Gene Roddenberry's ambitious brainchild. Замкнені в квартирі в Нижньому Іст-Сайді Мангеттена протягом чотирнадцяти років, семеро дітей сім'ї Анґуло - дочка Вішну і шість синів: Бгаґаван, близнюки Нараяна і Ґовінда, Мукунда, Крішна і Джаґадеш - пізнавали навколишній світ, дивлячись фільми, і врешті-решт почали розігрувати сценки з улюблених кінострічок, використовуючи вигадливі саморобні реквізит і костюми. Їхній батько, Оскар, мав єдиний ключ від дверей їхньої чотирикімнатної квартири на шістнадцятому поверсі в житловому проєкті Seward Park Extension, і він заборонив дітям або їхній матері, Сюзанні, яка навчала дітей вдома, виходити з квартири, за винятком кількох суворо контрольованих поїздок на «брудні» вулиці Нью-Йорка щороку.Для сім'ї все змінилося, коли у січні 2010 року, у віці 15 років, Мукунда вирішив прогулятися околицями, всупереч настановам Оскара залишатися вдома. In 1991, music manager Shep Gordon held Mike Myers over a barrel a few weeks before shooting Wayne’s World regarding an Alice Cooper song Myers wanted to use in the film. They have been close friends ever since. Twenty-two years later, the story of Gordon’s legendary life in the über-fast lane is now told in Myers’ directorial debut.
