Одне село, 1000 тракторів, 100 000 тонн капусти і картоплі щороку – тієї, що ледь вдається продати і зрештою доводиться знищувати. У румунському селі Лунґулецу 1000 фермерів сидять з 100 000 тоннами капусти на своїх тракторах в очікуванні покупців на місцевому ринку. Наприкінці дня вони або продають за безцінь, або знищують свій урожай. Заінтригований можливістю отримати тону капусти всього за 20 євро, містянин Шербан вирішує провести рік у селі і працювати на землі, аби побачити, чому ці люди втрапляють у безвихідь і чи існує інший шлях. Мер і деякі селяни мають ідеї й можливі рішення. Та чи зможуть вони подолати взаємну недовіру між фермерами, їхній страх «колективних господарств» та сильну жагу до конкуреції? У самоіронічному тоні режисер розповідає історію одного села, яке застрягло між минулим і сучасністю, і водночас малює сатиру на сучасні реалії аграрної Европи.
