Документальний фільм розповідає про долю міста Поліське, постраждалого від аварії на Чорнобильській АЕС. Це дослідження про мешканців міста, кинутих сам-на-сам з радіаційною загрозою. Радянська влада не тільки зробила усе, аби стерти давню історію містечка, залишивши його без минулого — в результаті аварії комуністи забрали у Поліського і майбутнє. Забруднене місто не було відселене до 1993 року, а інформація про справжній стан справ контролювалася КДБ.Спілкуючись з героями фільму — самопоселенцями, переселенцями, істориками та учасниками ліквідації аварії, автори спробують по друзках зібрати людський портрет міста, назавжди стертого з історії.
