Старіючий імпозантний актор Отто старанно підриває свою зоряну кар'єру бешкетством і пияцтвом. Щоб уникнути зриву зйомок, продюсер чергового фільму вирішує знімати картину паралельно в двох версіях - з Отто і маловідомим театральним актором в одній ролі. Конкуренція спочатку дисциплінує зоряного актора, але через деякий час Отто здогадується, як можна прибрати конкурента. Починається надзвичайне суперництво двох яскравих акторів.

The film tells the story of sixteen-year-old Nena, who is confronted with the suicide attempt of her handicapped father. At the same time she falls head over heels in love for the first time in her life with Carlo, whose father has just outed himself.
