Альфредові Дюмонт’є з народження катастрофічно не щастило: у сім років він ледве не потрапив у полон до нацистів, батько й мати вмерли рано, дівчина кинула його й пішла у монастир. Переситившись нещастями, Альфред вирішив утопитися. І треба ж було такому трапитися, що саме на тому самому мосту, з якого кинувся у воду Альфред, тієї ж ночі, тієї ж години, туди прийшла така ж бідолаха – Аґата Бодар, яку кинув відомий телеведучий.
