Дія трилера «Стрім» відбувається на курорті «Сосни», «перлині Пенсильванії», який згідно з рекламою готується до відкриття у вихідні. На жаль, його власниця Лінда може не дожити до цього. Невидимий зловмисник прагне назавжди поховати її кар'єру в індустрії гостинності. Однак у це місце прямують Кінанси, сім'я з передмістя, що складається з матері Елейн, батька Роя, 11-річного геймера Кевіна та дочки-підлітка Тейлор. Саме її бунтівні вибрики надихнули її батьків на цю поїздку, де вони провели найщасливіші часи кілька років тому. Також до них приєднуються два дуже гарні молоді французи, які привертають увагу Тейлор, кілька хтивих молодят і неохайний п'яниця. На стійці реєстрації їх вітає містер Локвуд і вимагає розрахунок за відпочинок готівкою. Він забуває згадати, що незабаром це місце буде опечатано, щоб нещасних гостей могли переслідувати чотири маніяки в масках. Ці дії фіксуватимуться камерами спостереження та транслюватимуться цікавим гравцям по всьому світу.
