Командир Адамс і його екіпаж повинні з'ясувати долю колонії землян в системі Альтаїр IV, що перестала виходити на зв'язок кілька років тому. Після року подорожі в гіперпросторі, корабель З'єднаних Планет сідає на планету, де вони знаходять тільки двох живих людей- філолога Морбіуса і його сексапільну дочку Альтаїру.Вся решта колоністів загинула з невідомої причини. Морбіус наполягає, щоб астронавти негайно покинули планету, бо він не може гарантувати їх безпеку, але командир вирішує залишитися.
