Сюжет
Стрічка складається з трьох новел про кохання, розгорнутих у різні епохи Тайваню — 1966, 1911 та 2005 роках — і зіграних тією самою парою акторів. У Каосюні 1966-го юнак Чень перед службою в армії знайомиться з Мей у більярдному барі, листується з нею і, повернувшись у відпустку, безуспішно намагається її відшукати. У Дадаочені 1911-го письменник Чанґ, пов’язаний із борделем, допомагає куртизанці Ах Мей піднятися до статусу наложниці, але мовчить, коли інша співачка просить вирватися на волю. У Тайбеї 2005-го фотограф Чжень заплутується в болісному трикутнику з дівчиною Цзін і бісексуальним співаком. Разом ці історії створюють поетичну медитацію про пам’ять, свободу та неминучі втрати.
