The trials and tribulations of bus driver Stan and his conductor Jack unfold in this weekly comedy. The bain of their working life is Inspector Blake who'll do anything to make their lives a misery... and does. Stan and Jack are a couple of "jack-the-lads" who are not averse to clocking a bit of crumpet here and there, but "Blakey" is constantly dampening their ardor.

The Liverpool-based Boswell family are experts at exploiting the system to get by in life. Сюжет

Романтична драма одного із засновників французької "Нової хвилі" (Nouvelle Vague), режисера Франсуа Трюффо. Дія відбувається напередодні та після Першої світової війни і описує трагічний любовний трикутник у складі французького богемного журналіста Джима, його сором’язливого австрійського друга Жуля і подруги Жуля, а пізніше й дружини Катрін.

Фільм заснований на однойменному напівавтобіографічному романі Анрі-П’єра Роше 1953 року. Трюффо натрапив на цю книгу в букіністичному магазині, а пізніше подружився з літнім письменником, який опублікував цей свій перший роман у віці 74 років.

У 1962 році фільм отримав Гран-прі французької кінопремії «Étoile de Cristal», а Жанна Моро отримала приз того року за найкращу жіночу роль. У 2010 році фільм посів 46 місце в рейтингу «100 найкращих фільмів світового кіно» британського кіножурналу Empire.
