Всупереч їхнім бажанням, один з них мусив бути підвищений до сержанта, щоб розлучити їх. Вибір впав на Акройда. Після повідомлення про заворушення в Мірзабаді, Брансвік і його батальйон відкликано та підпорядковано суперникові полковнику Ґроту з 28-го гусарського полку та його офіційному ад’ютанту майору Мерсеру.
