Аньєс Варда знімає два фільми про ощадливість і марнотратство, про заощадження і розтрати, про викинуті речі - викинутих тому, що вони не підходять за розміром, кольором, тому що з'явилися більш нові, вдосконалені речі.Картопля більше 55 міліметрів - викидається; щоб вино вважалося елітним - потрібно зібрати певний обсяг, а решту викинути гнити на землі; в смітті знаходяться продукти, чий термін зберігання закінчується тільки через місяць. Cyrille, a young gay farmer from Auvergne, has only one friend, a homosexual like him. One day, he goes on vacation to a beach in Charente Maritime.
