7.2 Сюжет
П'ятдесяті роки XIX століття. Супроводжуючи караван возів через прерії до Портленду, у пошуках нового життя, Ґлен Маклінток рятує від лінчування Емерсона Коула, підозрюваного в крадіжці худоби. На подяку Коул допомагає Ґленові та його друзям відбити несподівану атаку індіанців. Так герої стають друзями. Дочка одного з переселенців на ім'я Лаура відчуває почуття до Коула і вирішує залишитися в Портленді, щоб не пов'язувати своє життя з роботою в полях. Але Коул має таємне минуле, як і Глен.
