In his early thirties, Nikos is a poet and a dreamer, a bohemian figure of a man who even though he is content with his simple daily routine watching indolently the days pass by from the windows of his favourite coffee shop, on the inside, he is silently aching to love and be loved. On the other hand, Sophia, a decisive fashion stylist in her mid-twenties, thirsts to fulfil her dreams in life, she is fresh and staggeringly beautiful, yet, she is also leading an ordinary life. Eventually, by an interesting turn of fate, the two opposites will attract and as the lights flicker on a warm August night, amidst vacant Athens' stillness, Nikos, the knight in not so shining armour, will find the courage to converse with Sophia, the alluring woman he just met at a phone booth, blurring the line between chatting and flirting. Over the brief course of the remaining evening, while strolling around the city's quiet night streets, Nikos will earn Sophia's trust, underlining the necessity of a change in her life, however, by morning, who knows what the first ray of light will bring?

Two brothers, Mihalis and Nondas are working in a mortuary trying to make money, since Nondas owes a great amount of money to the Greek Mob and has to repay it; so he proposes to Mihalis that they start robbing banks. In order to stop the rapid increment of crime activities, the chief of the police has placed undercover officers in all bank stores, making the two brother's lives harder. The situation gets even worse when Mihalis falls in love with a bank employee. Big Bang is a insane comedy where nobody is the one he seems to be, no one does what he has to do and the consequence of all the above is something you wouldn't wish not even to your worst enemy.

The film takes place on the Greek Island of Spetses, where widowed Greek-History Professor Thomas Bradley is about to lose his research grant studying ancient love spells. He knows he is close to a major academic breakthrough and desperately wants to continue his research. Thomas is given one last chance to continue his work on a Greek island, at the home of the supportive Oxford don, Professor Coulter. Joined by his 12 year-old daughter, Serena, Thomas departs to the Greece island looking for the inspiration he needs to finish his thesis. Serena knows that what her father needs most of all is to find love again after the loss of his wife. Initially, Serena tries her hand at matchmaking with the local women on the island, who are less than impressed by the awkward and clumsy Thomas. Very much in tune to the ancient spirits herself, Serena meets Nereid a beautiful mermaid. However, menace is present in the form of the evil Captain Mavros, an island fisherman intent on killing Nereid and getting his claws on her priceless jewel-encrusted tail. Serena realizes that she has finally found the ideal match for her father and employs her father's ancient Greek love spells to make them fall in love.
