Телесеріал про приватного детектива Томаса Саллівана Маґнума, який живе на Гаваях у маєтку Робіна Мастерса, таємничого письменника-мільйонера. Робін постійно відсутній, тому господарством займається гордовитий англієць Гіґґінс, який недолюблює Маґнума. Між ними постійно виникають сварки, на яких базується комедійна суть серіалу.
