Після подій фільму "Залізна людина 3", Тревор Слеттері відбуває тривалий ув'язнення у в'язниці строгого режиму, під назвою «Seagate». Образ терориста Мандарина приніс головному герою велику популярність і певний захист, а тому актор не боїться і дає свою згоду режисерові-документалісту на інтерв'ю. Цю нетривалу бесіду Джексон Норріс розглядає, як останній шанс зазирнути трохи далі, ніж численні відмовки, тому він зіштовхує Слеттері з деякими елементами його минулого, що б розгадати правду. Адже всі хочуть раз і назавжди з'ясувати, що собою являє Тревор Слеттері?
