7.1 Сюжет (англ.)
Naseeb, a story of destiny and fate, begins with a lottery ticket. A drunk who cannot pay his tab trades his 'winning' ticket to the waiter, Namdev (Pran), instead. Namdev decides to share this ticket with his three friends Damu (Amjad Khan), Raghu (Kader Khan) and Jaggi (Jagdish Raj). But when it turns out to actually be a winner, Damu and Ragu turn on the other two, murdering Jaggi and framing Namdev. Namdev goes on the run but Raghu and Damu intervene and throw him over a bridge into a river and Namdev is presumed dead. However he is rescued by a don (Amrish Puri) but no one is aware he is alive. Fast forward to ten years later - Damu and Raghu have used their stolen lottery money to build a fabulous hotel and make millions becoming very successful businessmen. Damu has used a share of his money to send his only son, Vicky (Shatrughan Sinha) to school in England. They have even employed Namdev's oldest son Johnny (Amitabh Bachchan), Vicky's best friend, as a waiter in the hotel. By coincidence (or by fate!) Johnny and Vicky who are the best of friends fall in love with the same beautiful singer, Miss Asha (Hema Malini). Julie (Reena Roy) is a childhood friend of Vicky's who is in love with Vicky, but he only sees her as a friend. When Johnny discovers this, he and Julie sacrifice their own love to ensure that Vicky and Asha get together. At the same time, John's younger brother Sunny (Rishi Kapoor) has fallen for Asha's younger sister, Kim (Kim). Kim and Asha also happen to be the daughters of Jaggi, the man Namdev supposedly murdered. Namdev returns soon after and plans to take revenge against Damu and Raghu for separating him from his two sons Johnny and Sunny. The lives of all these characters become inter wined and Naseeb becomes a poignant story about love, friendship, sacrifice, deceit, revenge and above all, destiny.

Mr. Nath lives a very wealthy lifestyle in India along with his wife, Sushma, and a 6 year old son, Raj. Both he and Sushma lead a very busy life, so much so that they have no quality time to spend with Raj, leaving his care, even breast-feeding, to their maidservant, Mrs. Braganza, who Raj regards as his mother. When Mr. Nath finds Raj to be precocious, he has him enrolled in a distant boarding school. When Raj returns after 12 years, he does not find any change, save that Mrs. Braganza does not work there anymore as she has been fired by Sushma. At his 18th birthday party, he meets with flirtatious Nima, and this is when he sets his eyes on Bobby, Mrs. Braganza's 16 year old granddaughter, and falls head over heels in love with her. To his delight he finds that she also loves him, much to the chagrin of his parents, who agree to meet with Bobby's dad, Jack, and Mrs. Braganza, but humiliate them. This does not deter Raj and Bobby and they continue to meet, so much so that Mr. Nath instructs him not to leave the house or he will have him and the entire Braganza family arrested if they attempt to get the young couple married, as they are minors and must attain the age of 21 to be married. Raj decides to wait for 2 more years and accordingly writes to Bobby. Raj will soon realize that his parents have already selected a wife for him, in the shape and form of Alka Sharma, the only daughter of wealthy Mr. Sharma. Multi-millionaire Bishan Kumar and orphan Kishan are inseparable friends and live in the same house with Bishan's widowed mother and a maid servant. Bishan's father was responsible for the sentence of his uncle who has a criminal background; after completing his sentence Bishan's uncle pleads with his mother who forgives and accepts him and his son, Jagdish to live in the house together with them. While Kishan is a hardworking farmer who cultivates a plot of land Bishan goes abroad to further his education. Years later Bishan return as an adult only to renew his friendship with Kishan who is also an adult; Bishan then finds that Kishan has a golden voice which cannot be recognize in the village but can be heart rendering in the world of music in the city. Meanwhile Kishan is introduced to Bishan's wife, Sheela and son, Munna. Bishan decides to make all arrangements to take Kishan to the city; at first he refuses but later on agrees when Bishan convinces him. In the city Kishan gets to perform in his first singing concert which turns out to be a success rendering Kishan as an over-night star; his life changes when he gets to learn that Bishan's uncle and his son, Jagdish has embezzled all the family's assets and money, his wife and son is no longer with him and he had borrowed huge sums of money to fund him as a star. Kishan then decides he will use his musical talents to fund back his friend thus stabling him back to square one but unfortunately Bishan is hold as a hostage by his uncle and Jagdish on a yacht he once owned and is forced into confessing that he had a hand in abducting numerous school children. When Kishan gets word about this it stresses him into being a mentally unfit patient who is admitted to a mental asylum.

He then joins the Indian armed forces whereby he excel in the services he honestly provide to his country. During his college days he gets to meet his fellow collegian, Mohini who wholeheartedly love him and after placing a bet with his friends over her he then began to love her whereby he manages to convince her of his love. Mohini's father Shyamlal is an alcoholic and wants her to dance and take up prostitution as her profession so that she can be able to provide money for his daily share of alcohol. This does not anger well with Mahesh who decides to put a stop to this only to find himself at loggerheads with Shyamlal who takes the help of a gangster, Lotiya Pathan to frame Mahesh, gets him arrested, charged and outcast by law from the city of Bombay for a period of a year.
