Tunç, who is a director, is looking for a location in a small town for his new film. He observes everything around him for his screenplay. However, he constantly changes what he writes because he doesn't like it. He tries to turn some of the events he sees into stories. But he can't seem to get it right. One night, Tunç visits his neighbor Seniha, an old actress. Some of the things Seniha says inspire him. He returns home and sits down to work on the screenplay. Tunç, who becomes deeply engrossed in the screenplay he has written, will fall into a state of mental breakdown.

With good guidance from director Zeki Okten but an uninspired script, this story of a brother and his Turkish family influenced by old and new traditions is somewhat uneven. Bilal (Tarik Akan) is devoted to the art of wrestling, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, who were both champions at the sport. Aside from his interest in wrestling for its own sake, Bilal has a chance to win a provincial wrestling contest and thereby bring home a considerable cash award for his efforts -- and so his days are spent in training for the event. Meanwhile, his brother and sister-in-law and their daughter have come back home after living in Germany for 12 years and are finding the adjustment to their cultural roots a bumpy ride. As long scenes of well-oiled and slippery wrestlers in action prepare viewers for Bilal's big event, the struggle of these men is reminiscent of the struggle of Bilal's family to come to grips with a world they may not be able to accept unconditionally.

This is the tragicomic story of two lovers who cannot ever get together. Sener is the son of a simple family in the village and he is in love with the village headman's daughter Mujde. Kaya is also in love with Mujde. With Kaya's misleading, Mujde's father is against her marriage with Sener and does everything to prevent it. Sener goes to Istanbul and becomes a famous singer, Mujde follows him. Sener gets blind in an accident, and Mujde gets blind as he is cured. Sener gets amnesia, though he marries Mujde and gets healed. One mishap follows the other.. They come together, get separated, and reunite.. The mishaps go on till they get old and die.. They hope to reunite in the life after death, yet there too Kaya is waiting for them..
