Один з найуспішніших режисерів світу Джеймс Кемерон розказує справжню історію легендарного "Тітаніка" і німецького крейсера "Бісмарк", затонулого під час Другої світової війни. Підготовка до цих унікальних підводних зйомок велася довгих три роки, за які були зібрані новітні технологічні ресурси і складена команда висококласних професіоналів, в яку крім знімальної групи ввійшли відомі історики і океанологи. Експедиція проходила на російському науково-дослідному кораблі "Академік Мстіслав Келдиш".
