Тепер вся слава та багатство померлого переходить його єдиній спадкоємиці, дочці Еммі. Саме вона виявляється першою підозрюваною у вбивстві кінопродюсера.За розслідування цієї непростої справи береться детектив Корріган. Він допитує доньку загиблого і з'ясовує найдрібніші подробиці її стосунків з батьком. Інспектор усвідомлює, що покійний мав багато ворогів, і всі вони бажали йому якнайшвидшої смерті. Однак він не міг припустити, що більшість із них здатна на вбивство кінозірки.
Незабаром Коррігану надається можливість ознайомитися з відеозаписами, в яких зображені люди в масках, що підкладають вибухонебезпечні пристрої в басейн. Інспектор вираховує зловмисників і виходить на полювання за ними. Але злочинці не збираються ховатись від слідчого, навпаки, вони з величезним задоволенням знищать його.
